Unemployment rate for May up slightly
While there was little change in the overall unemployment rate for the month of May, employment did fall by 68,000 positions, most of those in part-time work.
The overall unemployment rate for the month, as measured on a year-over-year basis, was 8.2%. The comparable rate for April 2021 was 8.1%.
